The Asphalt Institute
A U.S.-based association of international petroleum asphalt producers manufacturers, and affiliated businesses. The Institute promotes the use, benefits, and quality performance of petroleum asphalt through engineering, research, and education. Engineering support to the highway and asphalt industries is available through a staff of professional engineers located at its headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky and in field offices around the United States.

National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT)
The National Center for Asphalt Technology was created in 1986 to ensure the Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) industry’s ability to serve the economic, and technical challenges, and to create opportunities for the future. NCAT is based at Auburn University, but operates in conjunction with companies, large and small, associated with the HMA industry.

The Nottingham Centre for Pavement Engineering
The Nottingham Centre for Pavement Engineering conducts research within the University of Nottingham for research councils, industry and government. It also provides extensive commercial services to the asphalt industry.

Transportation Research Board
TRB is a unit of the National Research Council, which serves the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. TRB stimulates research concerning the nature and performance of transportation systems, and disseminates research findings.
